Zylotrim

Many consumers have asked that we review Zylotrim and add it to our site.  It was actually a very difficult product to review because of a lack of specific information about the product.  There was no list of ingredients and we were unable to read the details of the clinical studies that they claim to have done on the product.  Their home page was a good sales pitch that was empty as far as important information goes.

The main active ingredient comes from a yam in Latin America.  Many great and very effective ingredients have come from this area, however, with such vague information they are either hiding an incredible ingredient to keep Zylotrim unique, or the main active ingredient is not too impressive and keeping this information disclosed may make it sound better than it really is.  We were unable to find any additional information concerning the contents of the product.

Luckily for Zylotrim, it does have some impressive testimonials claiming large amounts of weight lost in a short amount of time.  We gained just as much information off the testimonials as we did the actual product.

PROS:

  • Affordable  – 2 bottles of Zylotrim for only $30 makes it very competitive for price.
  • Company Contact Information – there are several places where actual phone numbers are given for questions, concerns, and sales.  We really appreciate direct contact with a company.
  • Well advertised and easily available through the internet and the TV.

CONS:

  • Misleading information claiming you get a trial version for free – you actually have get one bottle free when you buy a second bottle (Not EXACTLY a free trial version).
  • At maximum dose for maximum weight loss the bottle only lasts 15 days. This is much lower than the average bottle and most consumers just assume it will last 30 days.
  • No details available about the product.

CONCLUSION:

Although there are some pleased cusumers of Zylotrim, we were unable to find enough information about this pill to endorse it completely.  We have listed our top 3 recommended pills below.

3 Best Diet Pills of 2010

#2 Phenphedrine

  • Gives users an "Herbal" feeling: "Natural High"
  • Helps Appetite Suppression
  • Stimulates overall feeling of well being.

Phenphedrine will without a doubt provide users the QUICKEST weight loss results. It's the only product we reviewed that surpassed the weight loss results of the now banned Fen-Phen in Weight Loss Speed and scored a 100% in this category. There have been reports that Phenphedrine's "Controversial" formula contains trace amounts of the prescription drugs Phentermine (a centrally acting stimulant chemically related to amphetamines which halts the hunger sensation in the brain commonly sold under the names Fastin and Adipex) and Prescribed Pain Relievers. Our thorough research into Phenphedrine has not produced any evidence of these ingredients and we believe these rumors to be false.

Phenphedrine does however give users a feeling of a "Happy" sensation which helps suppress ones appetite and overall feeling of well-being. This euphoric feeling is most likely caused by a herbal combination of intense stimulants that stimulate what is known in the scientific community as C-A-R-T and Humulus Lupus (one of only two plants in the family Cannabinaceaea... the other being Marijuana) which inhibits NPY. Concerns that Phenphedrine may be soon taken off the market like Fen-Phen may make finding bottles in the U.S., Canada, and United Kingdom difficult. Phenphedrine is definitely the diet pill of choice for those seeking extraordinary RAPID results. Its results Super Exceed its price tag.

#3 Ephedrasil Hardcore

Ephedrasil Hardcore was not made for the average dieter looking to shed a few pounds of fat. It was made for those looking to lose AT LEAST 25 pounds. Yes, this is one HARDCORE weight loss pill.

To clear the rumors, Ephedrasil doesn't contain ephedra or ephedrine alkaloids. And it doesn't contain any other banned substances. It contains pharmaceutical-grade, potent fat burners and appetite suppressants, all of which are legal (currently) in the US.

At $79, Ephedrasil Harcore is pricey, but you get from you pay for. With a 98.4% success rate (according to EH) there isn't much risk in giving it a try. They even offer a 90 Day money back guarantee guarantee.

I was excited after seeing a zylotrim commercial that googled it and found this site. I’m really glad i took the time to read these testimonials. I was actually going to order the Z pills but this site has saved me money and unwanted stress. Thank you so much to everyone that has posted a review on this site!!

Every person’s body is different, some pills or diets may work for some and not for others. The best way to lose weight is eat a well balanced diet and work out. It’s not going to happen fast, but it will be long term. You have to change your life style. Count calories, cut out alcohol, and exercise for 30-60 minutes 4 times a week. It will be very difficult at first, but as you make it a routine it will become much easier. As you begin to see results you will be happier, and feel good about your body, so you will want to work out to keep it that way. We need to steer away from popping pills, nothing is that easy, or healthy. Good luck!

I too have been SCAMMED by this Zylotrim. Product does absolutely nothing and you cannot get your money back. 30 day money back guarantee is apparently for the first “Free” bottle! Wish I had come to this site prior to buying. One thing I have learned from this is to never buy from T.V. ads again. All infomercial producers should be concerned because when they allow a company to conduct business the way this one is, it reflects poorly on all of them making us consumers very skeptical. I don’t care who’s on TV pushing their product, if the industry won’t regulate itself then shame on them, they wont victimize me again.

I was watching TV one night and say peopple talking about this pill Zylotrim. So I thought well it wouldnt hurt to buy it and see if it works. Well, I wanted to get more important on it. Thats when I came across this website to get some feedback. I am not saying anything bad about this pill, but from everything I have read from everyones comments I believe I will not be buying or using any of the pills. Thanks to everyone for the addvice.

I just received my Zylotrim and after reading the testimonials on this web site I don’t know if I should take it or not. I have a lot of belly fat and can’t do much excercise because of back problems. I have tried so many diets and pills and pills make me sick at my stomach. I am desperate to lose weight and want to lose it fast but healthy. If there is anyone out there to give me good advice please do. Will they credit my account if I decide to send it back?

Martha Hamilton May 7, 2009 at 9:32 am

I JUST FOUND OUT FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT, THAT THEY JUST DEBIT, EVEN IF YOU OPT FOR A ONE TIME TRAIL. THEN WHEN YOU CALL THEM, YOU HAVE TO TALK TO SOME WACKO IN CUSTOMER SERVICE, THAT CAN NOT EVEN GIVE A GOOD ANSWER. THEY SAY THERE ARE NO SUPERVISOR AT THIS TIME. PERFECT FOR A SCAM !!!!!
MY BANK WILL TAKE CARE OF THEIR SCAM PROGRAM. THIS STUFF MADE ME SO SICK, I COULD NOT SLEEP AT NIGHT. I AM NOT SO SURE IT DOES NOT HAVE RAT POISON IN IT. THEY SHOULD BE APPROVED BY THE FOOD AND DRUG, AND I DO NOT THINK THEY ARE. ADVICE, STOP TAKING IT.

CAUTION with all diet pills. Note the frequent claims that from 66% to 72% of the weight loss is fat. This means that 28% to 33% OF THE WEIGHT LOSS IS MUSCLE, or “lean body mass.”

When weight is regained rapidly it is fat and, because almost no diet treatments have been shown to keep fat off that means that each time one looses weight and gains it back that the lean body mass (i.e., muscle) is less.

We were taught in medical school that “If a condition has more than two or three accepted treatments, IT HAS NO TREATMENT AT ALL.” (emphasis mine). I think this is still true and especially with regard to the drug treatment of obesity.

I just ordered this last night, didn’t have any trouble getting through, I did have to hit “0″ to get someone to talk to. I will call and cancel because since I can get it at Walmart why pay the extra…Thank you all for the information…

Mike May 11, 2009 at 10:32 pm

I bought zylotrim on internet and I’ve being taking it for about a wk, along with healthy food and exercises and it has been working on me, I’ve lost 7 lbs already in just a week…. Anyway with all those neg comments I wouldn’t recommend it… so it’s up to you! good luck!

Tiffany May 12, 2009 at 10:35 am

Why waste the time and money ordering Zylotrim when you can just buy it at Wal Mart? My older sister bought 2 bottles of Zylotrim for $30 and she took them for 3 days but stopped because they made her feel so full she never wanted to eat and when she would eat she felt like she was going to throw up. She isn’t over weight she just wants to lose a few pounds before her wedding. She gave me the remainding pills and I’m going to start taking them today.

Wow!

I saw an advertisement tonite and was thinking I might try an order. I was questioning what could be so different about this diet pill–so many are scams anyway. Decided to look it up and so glad I did. I can handle the fact that you need to exercise and have a healthy diet, those are a no-brainers, but I HATE BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I won’t be trying zylotrim. THANKS ALL!

wow May 13, 2009 at 3:45 pm

have you noticed most of these comments concentrate on how bad the service is by purchasing the product by phone? maybe thats why they say it doesnt work theyre mad about all the charges. my advice is go to walmart and buy it maybe it actually works.

Maryann May 25, 2009 at 3:39 pm

Just ordered this product today. When I saw all the negative comments, I really became afraid. Is there any way to cancel before they even ship it? This company now has my personal info. Someone please answer. Thank you

Hermes June 2, 2009 at 3:10 pm

I bought Zylotrim yesterday at Walmart for $19.88 + tax and took 2 pills around 7pm after I ate a meal. I weighed myself and I was at 218 lbs. I then exercised at 10pm for about 20 minutes and reweighed myself, I was at 216 lbs, I had to reweigh myself again because I couldn’t believe I had lost 2 lbs so fast, and yup 216 lbs. Then this morning when I woke up I reweighed myself and I was at 213 lbs. Now I know everyone loses weight in their sleep, but to lose 5 lbs in less than 24 hours is pretty impressive. I took two pills this morning and will reweigh myself when I get home from work, and I will let everyone know whether I lost any additional weight. Looks like it’s working for me.

I too have been looking for a product that will “help me get started”…I have a real problem with losing weight … I can’t do much exercise due to empheysema…now reading these reveiws, I didn’t purchase this product online…I sent the hubby to buy it at walgeens…I don’t mind testing a product on his dime…lol….am gonna start thursday morning 8/20/09…will keep ya posted on the results…..Thanks and GL ALL!!

TMel September 28, 2009 at 1:14 pm

I bought this at Wal-Mart like it seems most others have and glad I didn’t have the problems of ordering by phone. I started taking it 2 days ago. It does suppress your appetite, I haven’t felt hungry at all during the day and noticed I’m eating much smaller portions. I haven’t yet weighed myself and will do so once the full week is up. Hoping this works.

Angel Buyer October 14, 2009 at 3:11 pm

I am a Buyer and this is what I got from the BBB:

In 2005, the FTC charged this company for misleading advertising of their products, FiberThin and Propolene. Among the misleading claims, were promises of rapid weight loss without the need to diet and exercise, which the FTC categorizes as red flag claims. The final settlement bans Obesity Research Institute from making any of the challenged red flag claims and unsubstantiated claims for any future dietary products. Additionally, the defendants were required to pay consumer redress in the amount of $1.5 million. For more details see the following link: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2005/06/fiberthin.shtm

On June 19, 2008, the BBB asked this company to substantiate several claims related to the weight loss results from their product, Lipozene. Obesity Research Institute (ORI) has a website on which it makes several weight loss claims. Advertisers must be prepared to substantiate all claims of this nature by providing verification of the type, origin, and results of the independent scientific testing.

The following claims are being made in the infomercial on the companys website. The BBB requested substantiation for them:

1. 78% of each pound lost was pure body fat
2. Backed by 12 clinical studies
3. Clinically proven to help you lose pounds of BODY FAT and WEIGHT without a change in lifestyle

The company supplied us with the following studies:

1.) China (1989). Effect of Konjac Food on Blood Glucose Level in Diabetics

2.) Japan (1990). Metabolic and Nutritional Effects of Long-term use of Glucomannan in the treatment of Obese Diabetics

3.) Kobe University, Japan (1982). Clinical Study of Propol on Obesity

4.) North Dakota/MI (1983). Effect of Glucomannan on Obese Patients: A Clinical Study

5.) Caracas, Venezuela (date not provided). Glucomannan Dietary Fiber Action in Body Weight Loss and in the Regulation of Lipemia Values in Overweight Patients

6.) Caracas, Venezuela (date not provided). Pharmacologic Intervention Program in Infantile Obesity and Dislipidemias: Usefullness of Dietary Fiber Glucomannan

7.) University of Pavia, Italy (date not provided). Usefulness of Highly Purified Gulcomannan in Childhood Obesity

8.) Milan, Italy and Barcelona, Spain (1983). Glucomannan in the Treatment of Overweight Patients with Osteoarthrosis

9.) Milan, Italy and Barcelona, Spain (1988). Glucomannan in Hypertensive Outpatients: Pilot Clinical Study

10.) Pardova, Italy and Barcelona, Spain (1990). Double-Blind Evaluation of Glucomannan Versus Placebo in Postinfarcted Patients After Cardiac Rehabilitation

11.) Georgetown University (2003). A Randomized Double-Blinded Placebo Controlled Study of Overweight Adults Comparing Safety and Efficacy of a Highly Viscous Glucomannan Dietary Supplement (Propol)

12.) San Antonio, TX (date not provided). Follow-up Study of Compliance to Treatment in Subjects taking Propol for the Treatment of Obesity

Additionally, upon request the company supplied information that the compound, Glucomannan, is the active ingredient in both Lipozene, and their previously marketed product, Propolene. According to the information provided by ORI, Lipozene and Propolene are manufactured with the exact same chemical composition. ORIs advertising of Propolene was investigated by the FTC in 2005, which resulted in a court-approved settlement agreement involving no admission of liability or wrongdoing by ORI. For additional information regarding the results of the FTC action, see the government action section of this report.

The BBB cannot conclude if weight loss claims are substantiated by the studies provided. The FTC, FDA and other government regulatory agencies are better equipped to make this determination. The BBB reports on the information supplied by the company. If the FTC or FDA reach a conclusion regarding these advertising claims, i.e. substantiated or unsubstantiated, or bring any type of action against this company, the BBB will report that information.

So from reading all the reviews, looks like for people who work out, and eat moderately healthy.. and allow the appetite suppression induced by the pill to help them eat less, looks like the pill works for that bunch. I’m thinking the bunch that gained weight or felt no results, probably dont exercise much, and still eat the same, even when the pill suppresses their appetites a little. Even tho i did c one person who said they kept their eating habits the same and still lost.. but they also mentioned they exercise.
The only regret I have is that I didnt think to look here 1st 2 buy it at Wal-Mart and save 10 bucks, other than that, I exercise and eat semi-healthy lol.. so I believe these pills will work for me 2… just ordered the pills 2nite. i may come back to report my weight loss.. haha.
