Phentremine Civ-xR

Phentremine Civ-xR

Claiming to be the “strongest Phentermine alternative available”, Phentremine Civ-xR looks to be nothing more than another Phentermine imitator trying to fool people into believing it has any business in the same class as a prescription product.

Phentremine Civ-xR Ingredients

This product “contains the HOTTEST ingredients such as Hoodia Gordonii, Citrus Aurantium and Evodamine.”  Well, they got 1 out of 3 on that at least.  Not that this product doesn’t contain all three, but only Citrus Aurantium could really be considered a “hot” ingredient as it contains synephrine.  Hoodia is largely ineffective and has no evidence of actual success in clinical trials to date.  The remaining ingredients (whose concentrations are not disclosed) are as follows.

  • Vitamin B-12
  • Chromium Polinicotinate
  • Hoodia Gordonii
  • Citrus Aurantium
  • Senna
  • Caffeine
  • Evodiamine
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid
  • White willow bark
  • Yohimbe

Phentremine Civ-xR Pros

  • A few quality ingredients

Phentremine Civ-xR Cons

  • Generally low concentrations
  • Over- priced

Phentremine Civ-xR Conclusion

Sadly, it’s the same old story with Phentremine Civ-xR as with many of the other cheap Phentermine imitations – good looking ingredients, weak concentrations and proprietary blends, and a ridiculous price.  This also tries to lure you in with a “free trial” and auto-ship program. This is just another scam.

Phenterpril

Phenterpril

Phenterpril is a diet pill that makes a pretty concerted effort to seem legitimate but ultimately ends up appearing like another cheap Phentermine substitute.  There are probably a dozen products with names that sound similar to Phentermine but that include ingredients nothing like the active one in Phentermine.  Phenterpril is slightly different in name but much more different in composition despite calling itself “prescription strength.”

Phenterpril Ingredients

Phenterpril’s formula contains 37.5 mg of the following ingredients.  To be honest there is nothing special about 37.5 mg  for each of these ingredients.  It is the max dose for synephrine, but not even close to being a powerful dose of caffeine, phenylethylamine, or phenylalanine for instance.

  • Acetyl-L-Tyrosine
  • Caffeine anhydrous
  • Dicaffeine malate
  • Evodia Rutaecarpa
  • Ginger
  • Guggulsterones
  • L-Phenylalanine
  • Phenylethylamine
  • Synephrine HCL
  • Vitamin B6

Phenterpril Pros

  • Good dose of synephrine

Phenterpril Cons

  • Weak concentrations of other ingredients
  • Over-priced

Phenterpril Conclusion

Though ingredients like synephrine at the right dose can boost energy levels and increase fat burning metabolism, many of the other ingredients are just too weak here in their concentrations to do much else for you.  This product is simply not worth the price tag despite having a good formula in terms of ingredient names.

Phentarmine

Phentarmine

Phentarmine: Another Phentermine Imitation

That’s right folks, for the “low” price of $90, you too can get yourself a bottle of the fantastic Phentarmine (sarcasm not included)!  There are a handful of imitation Phentermine products out there trying to capitalize on the fame of the prescription product, but few if any of them come close to providing legitimate ingredients.

Phentarmine Ingredients

Vitamins –

  • B6
  • B12
  • Folic Acid

Proprietary Blend -

  • Hoodia Gordonii
  • Guarana
  • Yerba Mate
  • Green Tea Powder
  • Citrus Aurantium
  • Garcinia Cambogia
  • Cayenne
  • Gymnema Sylvestre
  • Korean Ginseng

This product touts hoodia as its main ingredient even though the exact concentration of everything in the proprietary blend is totally unclear.  There is really no way I could trust this product to include enough of the good ingredients like citrus aurantium or yerba mate to make a real difference.

Phentarmine Pros

  • None

Phentarmine Cons

  • Deceptive advertising
  • Ineffective key ingredient

Phentarmine Conclusion

Even though this product offers absolutely nothing more than an average run-of-the-mill hoodia product, it charges $90 per bottle just because its name is similar to Phentermine.  This is a scam and you should know to steer clear.

Pheninol

Pheninol

Pheninol – a Positive Weight loss Experience?

Fusion Health Products has produced a pill called Pheninol that “to help you feel better while you lose weight.”  There is a growing number of products on the market that combine mood-enhancers with weight loss, but many only include token amounts of the ingredients to make it seem like it would be good for both problems.  What about Pheninol?s

Pheninol Ingredients
There is not a lot of information about Pheninol out there (which is not a good sign).  Essentially Pheninol

contains the following ingredients.

  • Theobromine
  • Guarana
  • Methyl-Synephrine
  • Synephrine HCL
  • Methyl-Phenylethylamine
  • Phenylethylamine

These ingredients contain a combined total of 100 mg of caffeine, which should have you more alert and feeling energized.  This doesn’t necessarily mean you will be burning that many more calories, but it could provide energy for a workout.  Synephrine is also a fairly powerful stimulant in the right dosage (like in Fenphedra) and is a widely used ephedrine substitute.

As for feeling better, there is some evidence that phenylethylamine can significantly alter mood, but this is only in higher dosage.  Here it only contains about 37 mg.  This is good but not quite good enough given the other ingredients.

Pheninol Pros

  • Energy booster

Pheninol Cons

  • Over-priced
  • Weak mood enhancing effect

Pheninol Conclusion

For $70, this product is simply inadequate in its formula.  These are all good ingredients but the concentrations are weak and much larger doses could be found separately and for less money.  Don’t get excited about Pheninol, it is not what it seems.

Phenamax

Phenamax Scam?

“Lose 25 pounds in 25 days” the company says.  The fact that Phenamax makes a claim like that should tip you off right away that this very well could be a scam.  Why?  Because making a claim like that has no way of being proven and also implies that everyone can lose that much weight with this product.  What if I weigh 130, is it really feasible for me to get to 105 in less than a month?  Not even close!

Phenamax Ingredients

The ingredients are as follows

  • Citrin – 400 mg
  • Yerba Mate – 400 mg
  • Green Tea – 300 mg
  • Guarana – 90 mg
  • White Willow Bark – 60 mg
  • Cha de Bugre – 15 mg
  • Hordenine – 30 mg
  • ForsLean – 30 mg
  • Acacia Gum – 50 mg

With these ingredients, more than anything you are getting a heavy dose of caffeine with the combined effects of cha de bugre, guarana, green tea, and yerba mate. The significant ingredients here include hydroxycitric acid (HCA) from the Citrin and forskolin from forslean.  HCA  has some evidence to suggest it reduces body fat at least in mice and forskolin may boost lean muscle growth.

Phenamax is offered as a $1 trial plus $5 shipping.  The main issue here is that even if the product happens to work somewhat, after 14 days you will be charged $70 on your credit card.  14 days doesn’t even come close to being enough time to judge its effectiveness and given that it will take about 5 days to ship the stuff to you, you have about 9 days before it has to be sent back.  This is a SCAM!

Phenamax Pros

  • Some good ingredients

Phenamax Cons

  • Awful auto-ship scam

Phenamax Conclusion

This product really is one of the more blatant scams out there in that it offers only a 14 day window from the time you order it to allow you to return it without getting charged $70.  There is no way 7 bottles of this stuff would ever be worth $70, much less one bottle.  Stay away from Phenamax!

Orlistat

Orlistat Warning?

Orlistat is a kind of diet product that is available mainly by prescription (Xenical) but in some formulas as over-the-counter (Alli).  It is intended to reduce the amount of fat your body absorbs from your diet.

Orlistat Ingredients

Orlistat is also known as tetrahydrolipstatin, which works by inhibiting pancreatic lipase which is key in breaking down triglycerides in the intestines. This prevents about 30% of dietary fat from being absorbed.
Long-term studies have shown that about a third of the participants decreased body mass by 5% and less than a fifth decreased body mass by 10%.  These are fairly significant results

Common side effects with use of Orlistat or similar products is oily, loose feces and flatulence.  (Excuse me while I vomit.)  This is due to the excess dietary fat that is excreted undigested into the intestines.

Orlistat Pros

  • Significant trial results for some.

Orlistat Cons

  • High cost
  • Oily feces
  • Excess gas

Orlistat Conclusion

If you don’t mind the extremely unpleasant side effects , this product might be for you.  Though only less than a fifth of those who have used it in studies have lost significant weight, it still might be worth a try.  It is certainly not my first recommendation, but if you want to shell out the extra cash then help yourself.

NoxyCut

NoxyCut

NoxyCut for the Perfect Body?

I think all men can agree that having the “perfect body” would be awesome, but can a diet supplement like NoxyCut really get us there as it seems to claim? I hesitate to say that any diet pill could get you the perfect body, but NoxyCut at least claims to be powerful enough to be only for men over 18.

NoxyCut Ingredients

The most significant ingredients include

  • Tribulus terrestris (200 mg) – an ingredient that claims to be able to boost testosterone levels.
  • Caffeine (150 mg) – a stimulant which in this dosage will give you a relatively good kick of energy for several hours.
  • Creatine (100 mg) – an ingredient which helps you work out longer and harder in order to break down more muscle tissue (to build it up stronger, obviously)
  • Glutamine (100 mg) – used to help muscle tissue to recover from hard workouts
  • Arginine (100 mg) – increases production of a growth hormone

In general this is a pretty good formula for the active man, but the concentrations are a little weak.  Though there is actually little evidence that tribulus is effective at boosting testosterone, if you are working out hard and frequently, these ingredients should help you get more out of your workout.  Aside from this, they do not appear to be good for losing weight.

NoxyCut Pros

  • Good ingredients to build muscle

NoxyCut Cons

  • Somewhat weak concentrations
  • Not for fat-loss inherently

NoxyCut Conclusion

NoxyCut is a good formula, but the concentrations of its ingredients are somewhat weak and it doesn’t quite live up to the price tag. If you are looking for the perfect body you are going to have to be working out hard anyway and you can find these effective ingredients in other products at more adequate doses.

NiteTrim

NiteTrim: A Total Scam?

NiteTrim is a product bold enough to ask the question “Who else is ready to lose up to 20 lbs of pure body fat in the next 30 days or less?”  I’m pretty sure a lot of people can answer yes to that question but I am also convinced that there is not a product that in and of itself will make you lose that weight without causing serious health problems.  The fact that this product seems to claim the weight loss is effortless is a big red flag.

NiteTrim Ingredients

Though the entire site talks about the wonders of Hoodia Gordonii, an ingredient that has yet to be proven by any peer-reviewed clinical study to be consistently effective, the ingredient list doesn’t include hoodia.  In any case, let’s assume it is actually in this product (though this doesn’t help the case for NiteTrim).

Other ingredients include

  • Vitamin C
  • Chromium
  • Ginger
  • Potassium
  • Bromelain
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Cayenne

As this is a proprietary blend, there is no way of knowing how much of each ingredient is in the product.  These are pretty much all mild and common ingredients.  The more effective ones include cayenne and apple cider vinegar.  The problem is that even in the proprietary blend there can’t be enough of this stuff to make a difference.

NiteTrim Ultra Pros

  • None apparently

NiteTrim Ultra Cons

  • Auto-ship program
  • Weak concentrations

NiteTrim Ultra Conclusion

Not only are the ingredients in this product weak sauce, but the company tries to lure people in with a misleading “free trial” which enrolls you in an auto-ship program which will charge your credit card every month and keep sending you products.  Trust me, these are a pain to cancel.  I definitely do not recommend NiteTrim.

Metabolife Ultra

Metabolife Ultra

Many people wanting to lose weight struggle to continue a diet that requires fewer calories while at same time worrying about working out regularaly.  Metabolife Ultra claims to help you overcome these weight loss obstacles with “a specialized formula that helps increase your energy levels while also curbing your appetite.”  Given charges of false advertising, tax fraud, and endangering consumers with harsh chemicals, I wouldn’t exactly trust this company like your neighborhood grocer, but there are bound to be a few good points in this product.

Metabolife Ultra Ingredients

The main ingredient in this product is “Super CitriMax”,  which is a patented extract of Garcinia Cambogia and contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA).  Though the company claims that HCA is clinically proven to inhibit fat production, this refers to a study done on mice.  Less than 1% products effective on animals end up being effective for humans. This is extremely misleading.

Aside from the HCA, you are getting a few vitamins with caffeine as follows:

  • Calcium
  • Chromium
  • Sodium
  • Potassium
  • Caffeine
  • Co-enzyme Q10

Metabolife Ultra Pros

  • Contains caffeine

Metabolife Ultra Cons

  • Misleading advertising
  • Few effective ingredients

Metabolife Ultra Conclusion

When it comes down to it, the “clinical” research behind this product only refers to a few ingredients and in the case of HCA only refers to animal studies.  The rest of the ingredients are remarkably weak and the whole blend offers nothing worth $30 per bottle.  Don’t waste your money.

Metabolife Green Tea

Metabolife Green Tea

Can you ever have too much green tea?  I mean really, the stuff is great.  That’s probably why so many companies out there are making products labeled especially for their green tea content.  Metabolife Green Tea is one of those, but does it offer anything other than green tea for the price, because green tea isn’t exactly worth its weight in gold alone.

Metabolife Green Tea Ingredients

Most products like this offer token amounds of certain vitamins and this one is no different, including
Calcium

  • Copper
  • Sodium
  • Chromium
  • Potassium

As well, it includes a hefty 1032 mg proprietary blend with some of the following:

  • Green Tea
  • Guarana
  • Garcinia Cambogia
  • Yerba Mate

These ingredients are included to provide you with only two things: caffeine and HCA (hydroxycitric acid).  Sure, caffeine can help you burn extra calories while not working out, but HCA doesn’t have direct application to weight loss in most cases.  This product does obviously provide the antioxidants and catechins in green tea, but there is little else to make it unique.

Metabolife Green Tea Pros

  • Does contain green tea (surprise)

Metabolife Green Tea Cons

  • Over-priced
  • Unclear ingredient concentrations

Metabolife Green Tea Conclusion

This company is sketchy enough as it is.  The least they could do is get their token green tea supplement right.  They don’t even list the exact concentration of green tea and offer little else in the product.  There is no way this product should sell for $30 and there is no way I would recommend that you try it.
