Extreme Acai Berry

Extreme Acai Berry

Ever heard of a brazilan fruit called acai (ah-sigh-EE)?  It is growing in popularity as it is a fruit rich in antioxidants and claimed to be a “miracle fruit” to be used for a variety of issues including weight-loss.  The truth is, it’s no miracle fruit, but the hype has made scam artists rich and Extreme Acai Berry appears to be just one such scam.

Extreme Acai Berry Ingredients

The strange thing about this product is that it actually lists no supplement facts or ingredients.  We can only assume that it contains some quantity of acai, but there is no way to know how much if you check out the website.  Acai is a great ingredient and in the right concentrations it can do a lot of good for your health, but without knowing how much is in it, there is no way to know. This is clearly a scam.

Granted, this isn’t exactly the most sophisticated scam either as you will see customer testimonials as vague and ridiculous as “Now I know I am actually clean inside because I can feel it!” on the website, but if you look at the terms and conditions of their “14-Day Free Trial”, you will see that the 14 day trial starts the day you order the product, which gives you about 10 days max to try the product before they charge you $90 on your credit card and charge you more.  This is the only way you can buy the product.

Pros

  • None

Cons

  • No ingredient listing
  • Auto-ship scam
  • Over-priced ($90)

Extreme Acai Berry Conclusion

This is one of the most disgusting scams I have seen on the market.  Don’t fall for it!

Xenadrine RFA-X

Xenadrine RFA-X

Xenadrine RFA-X Ingredients

This product contains over 20 different ingredients in one proprietary blend that only amounts to 1129 mg.

Essentially this product probably boils down to green tea, caffeine, and coffee.  This will give you a kick of energy and will curb your appetite. These ingredients can help give you energy for a workout and a few of the other ingredients like raspberry ketones and forskolin are great for weight loss.

Xenadrine RFA-X Pros

  • Contains solid ingredients

Xenadrine RFA-X Cons

  • More costly then most diet pills

Xenadrine RFA-X Conclusion

Xenadrine has always been a solid brand name with a solid reputation. They make good diet pills with good ingredients. I would recommend Xenadrine RFA-X as a good fat burner.

Thermodrenix

Thermodrenix

Made by Blackstone Nutrition, Thermodrenix stands as a “clinically proven” and “patented” leader in weight-loss science…or does it?  It is only recently that I have begun learning more about this product, but from what I have found so far it looks pretty solid.  It isn’t exactly cheap at $70, but check out the following specs.

Thermodrenix Ingredients

This product is composed of 6 blends as follows…

  • Super Citrimax (1400 mg) – Standardized for hydroxycitric acid, this ingredient may help reduce appetite by increasing serum levels of serotonin.
  • Decaffeinate Green Tea (600 mg) – Standardized for 300 mg of EGCG.
  • Green Tea (400 mg)
  • ForsLean  (250 mg) – Contains forskolin which helps to build lean muscle mass
  • Gymnema Sylvestre (200 mg) – Helps to control blood sugar levels
  • BioPerine (5 mg) – a pepper extract which increases your body’s uptake of other chemicals, making the formula more potent.

In all, this formula contains 200 mg of caffeine, which is a pretty potent quantity. This formula is fairly comprehensive and may help to significantly burn fat while dealing with other body chemistry issues such as blood sugar and appetite.

Thermodrenix Pros

  • Multi-purpose
  • High on energy
  • Money-back guarantee

Thermodrenix Cons

  • Costly

Thermodrenix Conclusion

No, this is not the cheapest pill out there, but it contains some great ingredients for weight loss and overall health.  I would price it a little lower, but with a money-back guarantee you aren’t risking much and if it works for your (and all signs suggest it should) then you will be satisfied with the purchase in any case.  I say go for it.

Thermadrol

Thermadrol

Thermadrol – A Life Changer?

My favorite quote of the year: “I owe my life and happiness to Thermadrol .”
Yes, in fact, one customer of Thermadrol reported on the official website her amazing results which apparently made her owe her actual happiness to Thermadrol.  I know that weight-loss is important to many, but I’m pretty sure it’s unhealthy when you owe your entire life and happiness to a product.  So is this really a miracle product or is this just another hyped-up scam?

Thermadrol Ingredients

There really isn’t much to “ooh and aahh” about here.  As far as I can tell, of the 21 ingredients, only the following 4 really have direct application to weight loss:

  • Green Tea – rich in antioxidants, this ingredient is widely used to burn extra calories
  • Citrus Aurantium – otherwise known as bitter orange, this is a source synephrine, which is the number one ephedrine alternative and helps boost metabolism.
  • Caffeine – another stimulant to boost metabolism
  • Yerba Mate – has some effect as an appetite suppressant and stimulant

The other 17 ingredients may have a variety of effects such as mood enhancement and some may help regulate blood sugar, but this product isn’t exactly teeming with fat burners or blockers.  These ingredients that do help are only effective because of stimulant content.

Thermadrol Pros

  • Money-back guarantee

Thermadrol Cons

  • High stimulant content may be bad for the caffeine sensitive
  • Too high a price for what you get

Thermadrol Conclusion

This isn’t the worst formula I’ve seen by any means.  In fact, its not too bad at all but it really isn’t anything revolutionary and I would hesitate to say its worth $30 per bottle.  The company appears to offer a guarantee so its fairly low risk, but I personally wouldn’t waste my time or the shipping cost.

SummerPatch

SummerPatch

SummerPatch for Summer Heat?

I think what comforts me most about SummerPatch , a diet patch from the makers of PinkPatch, is that it is “Teenie Little Bikini Approved.”  Were it not for that, I just don’t know if I could take this product seriously…But seriously, this patch doesn’t exactly come off the blocks looking fresh and effective.  Here’s a look at what it offers you.

SummerPatch Ingredients

  • Brown Seaweed
  • Yerba Mate
  • Guarana

This formula, without reservation, is ridiculous.  Though there is absolutely no proof that the positive fat-blocking effects of seaweed (fucoxanthin) can be delivered through the skin, this accounts for 1/3 of the ingredients.  The other two are only going to be effective for their caffeine content through the skin.  There is no chance that this will really help you “stay skinny all summer long.”

SummerPatch Pros

  • none

SummerPatch Cons

  • Ridiculously over-priced ($50)
  • Weak ingredients
  • No proof of transdermal fucoxanthin delivery

SummerPatch Conclusion

One of the weakest, most overpriced products I’ve seen in a while.  There is no real evidence that this will do anything for you other than make you feel more awake from the caffeine and maybe burn a few extra calories from the change in your metabolism.  Don’t put a damper on your summer-fun budget by buying a joke like SummerPatch.

SlimQuick Cleanse

SlimQuick Cleanse

SlimQuick Cleanse claims to “jump-start” women’s weight loss in six ways:

  • Eliminate toxins
  • Boost metabolism
  • Improve digestion
  • Increase energy
  • Cleanse colon
  • Balance blood sugar levels

Oddly enough, “improve digestion”/ “cleanse colon” and “boost metabolism” / “increase energy” are pretty much just restatements of the same function, but will this product even help you in these four ways?

SlimQuick Cleanse Ingredients

The main “ingredient” in this product is one proprietary blend of a ton of different ingredients.  As the whole thing amounts to about 2 grams, there is no way that each ingredient is included in an effective dose.  This is a typical strategy – overwhelm you with ingredients to make the product appear impressive and effective.

SlimQuick cleanse 6-WAYS Complex:

  • Glucomannan
  • Green Tea Extract
  • Senna Extract
  • Ginserg Extract
  • Lactospore
  • Chastee Tree Extract
  • Milk Thistle Extract
  • Artichoke
  • Turmeric Extract
  • Dandelion
  • Cranberry
  • Fennel
  • Peppermint Extract
  • Caraway
  • Ginger
  • Slippery Elm
  • Bromelain
  • Cinnamon

There are a few effective ingredients here (if they are in the right doses) like green tea and glucomannan, but the rest of the ingredients are surprisingly weak and amount to mild herbs that are only effective in much higher doses.

SlimQuick Cleanse Pros

  • Relatively inexpensive

SlimQuick Cleanse Cons

  • Weak ingredients
  • Undisclosed concentrations

SlimQuick Cleanse Conclusion

The one redeeming factor in this diet pill is that it doesn’t ask some ridiculous price, staying below $20 in most places I’ve seen it.  In any case, this product is weak and not even necessarily for women.  SlimQuick Cleanse is unlikely to jump-start anything.

Slim 10

Slim10 for Liver Failure?

According to the company “Slim 10 is the first and only pill to combine the ten most effective weight loss ingredients.”

Apparently these “ten most effective” ingredients combine to destroy your liver faster than you can say “wow, these diet pills totally destroyed my liver.”  Several reports by Time magazine and the BBC have shown the suffering and even death that many people have endured from liver failure due to using this product and other similar ones.

Slim10 Ingredients

This is not to say that Slim 10 doesn’t include some good ingredients that are safe, but clearly something about this company’s “proprietary” formula is dangerous.  It contains the following

  • Advantra Z – a source of synephrine
  • Super Citrimax - contains Hydroxy Citric Acid (HCA)
  • Tonalin – contains Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)
  • Phase 2 - white kidney bean extract
  • 7-Keto - a metabolite of DHEA
  • NeOpuntia -  Opuntia ficus indica cactus
  • ForsLean – contains forskolin.
  • Slimaluma -  Caralluma Fimbriata Extract
  • ChromeMate -  chromium polinicotinate.
  • CarniPure – a source of carnitine
  • Hoodia gordonii – an African cactus

Ingredients like forskolin, synephrine, bean extract, and 7-Keto have significant research suggesting them as viable weight loss ingredients, but many of the other ingredients, especially hoodia gordonii and opuntia cactus really struggle to show their ability to help you with anything.  As well, this formula is proprietary and doesn’t disclose exactly how much of everything is in it.

Slim10 Pros

  • None

Slim10 Cons

  • Highly over-priced ($75)
  • Terrible health risk

Slim10 Conclusion

Given this pill’s track record, its price and the fact that it is completely unclear about how much of everything is in it, I wouldn’t try it if they were handing it out for free.  Stay way from Slim10!

Size 0

Size 0 or 0 Effect?

Size 0 is a diet pill taking advantage of the unhealthy hype behind an unhealthy anorexic-looking trend among models and Hollywood celebrities.  Happily claiming to be “all the BUZZ right now with its very presentable and captivating packaging”, this product doesn’t exactly have a lot to brag about apparently if it’s mentioning its packaging first.  But though it does claim to have a great formula, it doesn’t exactly come clean on its details.

Size 0 Ingredients

There are four proprietary blends in Size 0, including the following

  • Weight Loss Support Blend (785 mg) – Caffeine, Green Tea, Yerba Mate, Green Coffee Bean, Cardia Salisfolia, Cocoa, Taurine, and Citrus Naringin
  • Appetite Support Complex (17 mg) – Hoodia gordonii, Smithin Jojoba, Griffonia Simplicifolia
  • Beauty Support Blend (11 mg) – Horsetail leaf, Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen, Choline, Silica, Biotin, Chamomile Flower, L-Cysteine, Methionine
  • Estrogen Support Complex (4 mg) – Chaste Tree Berry, Dong Quai, Daidzein, Vitex agnus-castus

So this is obviously a complex formula, including some legitimately effective ingredients for weight loss like the green tea/caffeine combo, and yerba mate.  These are largely stimulants to boost your metabolism  and they are also fairly inexpensive.  Then, as if to justify the $50 price tag, this product includes a slew of other ingredients in tiny amounts.

Hoodia gordonii isn’t even proven to be effective at large doses much less in a mix of 17 mg.  This is ridiculous.  Moreover, the rest of the ingredients do not disclose their exact concentrations, making it impossible to know whether they will help you or not.  It appears to be a recipe for a placebo.

Size 0 Pros

  • Green Tea/Caffeine

Size 0 Cons

  • Over-priced
  • Weak concentrations

Size 0 Conclusion

Even though the “Science Behind Size 0” section of the website is still “under construction” there really doesn’t seem to be a lot behind this product other than deceptive advertising and unhealthy hype.  If you really want to “get into that dress”, I suggest a regular exercise routine and a product that discloses legitimate ingredient amounts.  I clearly do not recommend Size 0.

SesaThin

SesaThin

Anyone who’s ever eaten a hamburger has probably noticed the little seeds  baked into the top of the bun.  Few people these days know just how nutritious sesame seeds are, but its important to know their full potential when considering a product like SesaThin , which is essentially just a sesame oil supplement.

SesaThin Ingredients

The only “active” ingredient in this product is sesame seeds, even though the proprietary blend is called “SesaThin.”   For thousands of years peoples across the world have used sesame oil for energy and longevity.  What about weight loss?

There have been a few studies that suggest sesame oil may decrease fat storage but nothing concrete has ever been proven.  It is great for your health, but there is no legitimate evidence to show it will significantly help you with weight loss.

SesaThin Pros

  • Good for health

SesaThin Cons

  • Not for fat loss
  • Over-priced

SesaThin Conclusion

Again, back to the hamburger.  The bun can’t be all that expensive right?  Well, sesame seeds simply aren’t that expensive and to expect $30 a bottle for something that has no certified concentration is ridiculous.  You would do well by your health to eat more sesame but badly by your wallet to buy this product.

ProShape rx

ProShape rx

“The body you’ve always wanted.  It’s possible with ProShape rx !”  There are enough products out there that claim the same thing to make you dizzy.  Marketing is one thing, but tactics used to deceive consumers are another.  The simple fact that this stuff includes “rx” in its name makes it appear to be some sort of “prescription-grade” product.  Take a look at the ingredients and decide for yourself.

ProShape rx Ingredients

The three most “talked about ingredients” according to the company include

  • Chitosan – a fiber made from shellfish that supposedly binds itself to fat to reduce absorption.  Research shows that it would take a TON of the stuff to make any real difference.
  • Hoodia Gordonii – an African cactus that is claimed to reduce appetite but has failed to produce one legitimate study proving its effectiveness.
  • Kidney Bean Extract – this ingredient actually has legitimate research to show it may prevent starch from being broken down into sugars by your body, eventually reducing excess caloric intake.

Other ingredients include-

  • Beet Root
  • White Willow Bark
  • L-Methionine
  • Fenugreek
  • Green Tea

ProShape rx Pros

  • Green Tea

ProShape rx Cons

  • Ridiculous price - $70
  • 2/3 ineffective key ingredients

ProShape rx Conclusion

Sadly ProShape’s formula turns out to be about as flimsy as its advertising.  There is absolutely nothing in this product that could ever be worth $70 for a bottle of the stuff.  This is very low on value.
